Purpose of the position:

 

The Technical Procurement Manager is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing contracts for aircraft maintenance-related services, including Base Maintenance tenders, Spare Parts, and Line

Maintenance. Reporting to the Head of Technical Procurement, this role plays a critical part in driving value, efficiency, and compliance within Wizz Air’s technical operations, directly contributing to the

achievement of the company’s cost reduction and operational targets.

Responsibilities:

 

Sourcing & Contract Management


  • Lead strategic and tactical sourcing, contract management, and negotiations for Basev Maintenance, Line Maintenance, Component Repair, and other Maintenance related services procurement.
  • Develop and implement category strategies and sourcing plans for technical areas, aligned with overall business and operational objectives to deliver best value.
  • Source new suppliers, conduct market analysis, and benchmark maintenance and parts suppliers to support robust decision-making.
  • Negotiate all commercial terms, ensuring optimal cost, risk mitigation, and contract terms for Wizz Air.

 

Supplier Relationship & Performance Management


  • Establish and manage constructive supplier relationships, driving key supplier performance, ensuring adherence to contractual commitments, and proactively managing supplier risk.
  • Resolve commercial and contractual disputes with suppliers, especially those with high complexity and/or critical impact to airline operations.
  • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to governance principles, company compliance policies, and industry best practices, including regulatory (EASA/FAA) requirements.

 

Collaboration, Process Improvement & Reporting



  • Engage with key internal stakeholders (Technical Operations, Engineering, Finance, Legal, etc.) to gather requirements, resolve disputes, and support cross-functional projects.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on spend and budget variances within the technical categories; partner with Finance Controlling for effective budget preparation, forecasting, and cost monitoring.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in procurement processes, supporting the development of technical procurement best practices.
  • Champion procurement function value, providing input into the ongoing enhancement of processes, tools, and organizational awareness.
  • Lead and manage cross-functional and category-specific projects as required.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties in line with the nature and responsibilities of the role.

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • 3-5 years of procurement, supply chain, or contracts management experience within an aviation, airline technical, or closely related industry (MRO, OEM, airline, aerospace supplier).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead tenders and manage complex supplier negotiations
  • Project management experience, with the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives in a dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Fluent English (both written and spoken)
  • Demonstrates a proactive and results-oriented mindset, consistently seeking ways to improve outcomes for the team and the company.
  • Upholds a 'can do' attitude, taking ownership of tasks and responsibilities, and going the extra mile to achieve objectives.

  • Confidence in using GPT tools.
